General Description The General Ledger Accountant will be responsible for managing core accounting processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The role supports period-end close, internal and external audits, and compliance activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong internal controls. This position requires both technical accounting expertise and a proactive, analytical approach to process improvement. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports in line with US and global accounting policies. Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and audit requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and discrepancies. Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation. Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and automation in general ledger accounting. Utilize ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or IFS) and reporting tools (Excel, Qlik Sense, Podio, Power BI) to drive efficiency and accuracy. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 2–4 years of general ledger or accounting experience in a corporate environment. Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, IFS preferred). Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, data analysis). CPA or CMA certification is preferred but not required. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proactive and collaborative approach, with attention to detail in a high-volume environment.
