What we’re looking for: Manage and improve accounts payable and receivable processes: ensure timely vendor payments, accurate billing and invoicing, and maintain data hygiene across our finance software stack. Collaborate closely with the team to close monthly financials, ensuring accuracy and integrity in preparation for tax reporting (GST, PAYG, BAS, Payroll tax, etc.). Maintain our accounting playbook: keep procedural documentation and accounting policies up-to-date with any relevant changes. Support high-impact finance initiatives: get involved in accounting projects as they arise (e.g., external audits, technical assessments). Embrace the unexpected: as a high-growth startup, there may be opportunities to dive into additional business initiatives (e.g., budgets/forecasting, R&D tax incentive claims) as we scale our finance team. About You: Experience with using Xero, Approval Max, and Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets. Detail-oriented: accuracy is essential—thoroughness in reviewing records, handling high-volume transactions, and preparing information for stakeholders. Clear communicator: able to understand accounting concepts (prepayments/accruals to ensure accurate coding) and actively engage with team members who interact with finance processes. Continuous improvement mindset: comfortable questioning the status quo and looking for ways to enhance processes. Dynamic and flexible: thrive in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to meet deadlines and reprioritize as needs shift. Experience & Competencies: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (accounting, finance, business). 1–2 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a similar role. Highly organized with outstanding English written, verbal, and presentation skills to clearly convey complex topics. High-energy, self-driven, adaptable, resilient, trustworthy, curious, and passionate. Big 4 experience is preferable.
