VP for Technical Operations (Renewable Energy) On-site: Ortigas (possibility of Hybrid set-up) As the VP for Technical Operations, you will play a crucial role in leading and overseeing the company’s daily technical/operation service activities, ensuring that the business runs smoothly and efficiently. This role requires a strategic thinker who can implement effective processes, manage a diverse team, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The VP for Technical Operations will collaborate with other senior leaders to achieve organizational goals and enhance overall performance. Key Responsibilities Shall manage and supervise the daily technical operations across all departments, plant sites and operating locations. Develop and implement operational technical policies and procedures to enhance efficiency. Monitor technical performance and implement improvements where necessary. Provide high-level technical expertise and engineering design insights to support operational activities and improvements. Evaluate and validate engineering designs to ensure alignment with industry standards and project requirements. Lead technical reviews and assessments of engineering projects to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Shall manage utility‑scale or large power plants through all lifecycle phases: pre‑development, construction, and post‑development. Oversee technical design and operational aspects of power plant projects, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards. Implement and monitor strategies for effective plant operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement. Shall oversee the management of EPC projects, ensuring timely and within‑budget delivery. Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with EPC contractors and suppliers. Monitor and manage the performance of EPC partners to ensure alignment with project goals and quality standards. Work with the executive team to develop and execute strategic plans that align with company goals. Identify and evaluate technical improvement opportunities and cost‑saving initiatives in phases of plant development. Develop and manage operational technical budgets, ensuring adherence to financial plans. Lead and inspire the technical team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide professional development opportunities and training for staff. Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the technical team and across departments. Analyze existing processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity. Leverage technology to streamline operations and reduce operational costs. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and legal requirements. Develop and implement technical risk management strategies to safeguard company operations. Conduct regular audits and assessments to maintain integrity and compliance. Collaborate with senior leadership and other department heads to align operational strategies with business objectives. Represent the department in executive meetings, providing regular updates on operational performance. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar leadership role, preferably in the renewable energy sector, having excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong business acumen, and a passion for renewable energy and sustainability. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Management, preferably a registered or professional engineer, with a Master’s degree or MBA. Minimum of 10‑15 years of experience in operations technical management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Must have established relations with EPC’s, engineering companies, etc. Proven track record of successfully managing complex operations and leading large teams. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent strategic planning and organizational abilities. Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics. In‑depth understanding of industry regulations and compliance. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Proficiency in relevant software and technology tools. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in high‑level financial analysis and management, including financial forecasting and budgeting. Work Environment: This role operates primarily in a professional office environment, with occasional travel required for meetings and site visits.
