Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist Staff member to join our team. The pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing medications, providing expert advice to patients, ensuring safe and effective use of pharmaceutical products, and collaborating with healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of pharmacy laws, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to patient care and safety.
Education and Experience- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited pharmacy school.
- Valid and active pharmacy license in the state of employment.
- Previous experience in a pharmacy setting (community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, etc.) is preferred, but not required for entry-level roles.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, pharmaceutical laws, and therapeutic guidelines.
- Ability to interpret and verify prescriptions, ensuring accuracy and safety.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain medication instructions clearly to patients and healthcare providers.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing medications and managing patient records.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with professionalism.
- Proficient in the use of pharmacy software, inventory management systems, and other related technology.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to identify potential drug interactions and adverse effects.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of service and patient safety.
- Valid and active pharmacist license as required by the state of employment.
- Certification in immunization administration is a plus (if applicable).
- Any other relevant certifications (e.g., BCPS, BCPP) are beneficial but not required.
- Strong commitment to patient care and safety.
- Compassionate, patient-focused demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
- Dependable, reliable, and professional with a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to stay updated with the latest pharmaceutical research and best practices.
- Ability to stand for long periods during shifts.
- Ability to lift and carry boxes of medications or supplies as needed (typically up to 25 lbs).
- Manual dexterity for accurately dispensing medications and managing pharmacy tools.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on pharmacy operating hours.
- Ability to work in a busy environment with multiple tasks and customer interactions.
- Must adhere to safety and regulatory standards in a healthcare environment.
- These requirements ensure that the Pharmacist Staff member can provide high-quality pharmaceutical care, adhere to industry standards, and maintain patient safety in a variety of pharmacy settings.
