We’re looking for a Principal Software Engineer who thrives on solving complex problems, experimenting fast, and iterating with purpose. Someone fluent in our tech stack who can ship high-quality code in fast-paced environments — and who’s hungry to apply AI and modern engineering to real-world financial challenges. You’ll help shape the technical direction for a world-first AI-powered finance platform that helps Australians maximize their savings. Tech Stack: React, React Native (Front end) | C# .NET (Back end) | Cloud & AI frameworks (nice to have) Responsibilities Core Development & Delivery Write, test, and maintain production-quality code in C# .NET and/or React Native . Prototype quickly and roll out features end-to-end across the stack. Ensure systems are fast, secure, and scalable. Test thoroughly and fix issues early across both backend and frontend. Drive high standards for code quality, performance, and maintainability. Technical Implementation Turn product ideas and Figma designs into solid, production-ready architecture. Lead code reviews and model engineering excellence for both C# and React Native. Guide the team in AI adoption — from automating workflows to enhancing user experience. Contribute to architectural discussions and improve tooling, performance, and developer experience. Within 3-4 months, take ownership of backend services, designing APIs and scalable integrations. Technical Leadership & Mentorship Act as a technical mentor and sounding board for engineers and leads. Promote a culture of ownership, clarity, and innovation. Collaborate daily with engineers, designers, and product managers. Support less-experienced teammates and help them level up technically. Model strong communication and problem-solving under ambiguity. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience. 8+ years of software engineering experience, with ≥2 years as a Principal Engineer Expert-level experience in C# .NET and/or React Native . Proven record of solving complex technical challenges and leading system-level architecture. Demonstrated AI adoption experience in product or engineering workflows. Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills. Strong English proficiency and experience working with global teams. Based in South East Asia: Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, or Indonesia (strong English needed) Preferred: Experience in banking, lending, or savings domains. Background in startup or fast‑scaling product environments. Exposure to cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, or data‑driven platforms. Prior experience mentoring engineers or leading by technical influence.
