This is a remote position.

Role 1: Security Engineer

• Work with the engineering team to configure, support, monitor, and improve the security posture of our Big Data platform, and Cloud infrastructure
• Research and implement security-focused tools to defend our infrastructure and applications from risks
• Ensure that security requirements and considerations are woven into the development of each system
• Design security controls for an "infrastructure as code" service model
• Improve the signal to noise ratio from alerts, and work with DevOps to generate meaningful events
• Perform routine security posture assessments of the infrastructure, and build a resolution plan around deficiencies/areas for improvement
• Develop and maintain security architecture diagrams
• Participate in on-call rotation, respond to alerts, troubleshoot and resolve problems
• Weigh-in on, and drive, the designing and engineering of security solutions across the business
• Create and automate security controls in an Agile, CI/CD environment
• Assist developers in static, dynamic, and open-source code analysis
• Drive creation and collection of the information security KPIs
• Develop training and educational literature to educate enterprise workforce on best practices
• Support the designing, testing, and implementation of complex security solutions to meet security and regulatory requirements for cloud environments
• Consult with development and operational teams to securely design applications and services following industry best practices

Requirements

• Experience in at least one Public Cloud (AWS or GCP)
• Knowledge of information security, risk management, and data privacy within a cloud environment and consumer-facing applications
• Knowledge of security capabilities and constraints related to deploying cloud native and multi-cloud applications and infrastructure
• Good understanding of firewalls, threat prevention and detection, and application security principles
• Good understanding of applied cryptography and Public Key Infrastructures (PKI)
• Good understanding of identity management, user authentication and authorization principles
• Demonstrated technical competency in security engineering based on hands-on experience or relevant qualifications
• Demonstrated effectiveness working in a multi-timezone environment
• Ability to develop solid working relationships across multiple levels and organization boundaries
• BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
• AWS-certified security engineers will be highly preferred

Role 2: DevOps Engineer

This is a remote position.

• Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform to provision and manage AWS resources
• Deploy and manage containerized applications using Elastic Kubernetes System (EKS) or similar container orchestration tools
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes
• Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability using AWS monitoring tools and custom scripts
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to infrastructure, deployments, and performance
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications are designed with scalability, reliability, and security in mind
• Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Continuously evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to improve the efficiency and reliability of infrastructure and deployment processes
• Provide guidance and support to junior members of the DevOps team
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role
• Strong proficiency in AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.
• Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform or similar tools
• Hands-on experience with container orchestration tools such as EKS, Docker Swarm, or Kubernetes
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and system administration
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
