Role Summary The NPI Factory Quality Manager is a critical role responsible for ensuring that all new products are launched with the expected standards of quality, reliability, and manufacturability. This individual serves as the primary quality interface between engineering and manufacturing during the NPI process, developing and executing robust quality strategies, managing risks, and ensuring a seamless transition from product development to mass production. Key Responsibilities Ensure execution of PQP (Product Quality Planning) delivered from design site QPM. Ensure factory NPI production line remains under quality control, including firewall/line stop controls. Review and approve process qualifications. Lead factory NPI production and process driving for all build issues (Manufacturing/Design). Coordinate and consolidate build performance reports within the factory NPI team, aligning quality statements with QPM and Program Manager. Own the Safe Launch Control Plan, CTQ, and Process Control Plan to drive flawless launch results. Adhere to global NPI quality strategy KPIs and goals, creating goal plans and keeping regular KPI reviews within the factory NPI team. Serve as the key factory quality contact during customer NPI audits or visits to ensure expectations are well communicated and followed. Core Responsibilities Define NPI factory site quality KPIs versus global NPI quality KPIs, create execution plans, and provide regular KPI updates (weekly & monthly). Coach and manage multiple quality engineers to ensure quality support for each NPI project following development requirements and procedures. Ensure customer requirements are received in factory and deployed. Provide early DFx feedback to design sites to minimize risk during NPI builds and avoid issues in mass production. Ensure process qualification of key processes for each project. Execute fundamental NPI quality controls in production lines (e.g., shop floor control systems, traceability, SPC on critical processes, line stop mechanisms, CAPA action drive mechanisms, CTQ deployment, product/process control plan execution, OQA/In‑line QA/IPQA controls). Review and approve each NPI build performance report and provide factory quality statements matching QPM. Host customer visits or audits in the NPI production lines. Education Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field from an accredited institution. Advanced Degree in Engineering/Science (desired). MBA (desired). Experience Minimum 10 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Minimum 5 years of Quality Manager background. Position Specific Requirements Aggressive and straightforward in driving problem solving and quality improvements. Willing to take on challenge tasks and leadership roles. Strong interpersonal communication and listening ability. Practical experience in APQP tools, tool usage, and NPI program management. Competent in problem‑solving tools such as 8‑D methodology, Fishbone diagram, Brainstorming, 3×5 Why. Competent in quality tools and process/production control methods such as Control Plans, FMEA, MSA, SPC, product life cycle, and reliability. Ability to read and interpret specifications to ensure understanding of agreed quality parameters and product specific requirements. Preferred Knowledge of customer‑specific requirements. Knowledge of manufacturing for highly engineered, precision power conversion, measurement, and control solutions. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
