Job Scope: The Senior Data Analyst is a key contributor in delivering advanced analytics and automation solutions for both internal operations and external client-facing projects. This role combines deep analytical skills, statistical expertise, and AI knowledge to generate actionable insights, streamline business processes, and support strategic decision-making across diverse client engagements. The analyst also serves as the organization's advanced Excel expert, focusing on streamlining and automating repetitive Excel tasks while strategically augmenting Excel capabilities with modern technologies such as Python and BI tools. The analyst collaborates closely with cross-functional teams and external clients, develops intelligent models with strong emphasis on data governance and quality, and acts as a subject matter expert in integrating AI and machine learning into analytics ecosystems while ensuring data privacy and compliance with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Excel Excellence & Automation Serve as the organization's advanced Excel expert, designing and implementing Excel solutions for complex business problems Streamline and automate repetitive Excel tasks through advanced formulas, macros, VBA programming, and Power Query implementations Strategically augment Excel capabilities by integrating Python scripts, Power BI connections, and other modern technologies where applicable Develop Excel templates, models, and automated workflows that enhance productivity and reduce manual effort across client projects Client Engagement & Analytics Delivery Lead complex data analysis projects for external clients, translating business requirements into comprehensive analytical solutions combining Excel expertise with advanced analytics Analyze complex datasets from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities using statistical techniques, AI/ML algorithms, and advanced Excel modeling Design, develop, and implement predictive and prescriptive models using Excel, Python, and other analytical tools to support strategic client initiatives Collaborate directly with external clients to understand their Excel-based workflows and recommend optimizations through automation and technology integration Data Governance & Quality Assurance Establish and maintain comprehensive data dictionaries and data glossaries for both client projects and internal systems to ensure consistent data understanding across teams Implement data quality frameworks and monitoring processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability of analytical outputs Enforce data privacy protocols and governance standards to protect sensitive client data and ensure regulatory compliance Document analytical methodologies, data sources, and business logic for knowledge transfer and audit purposes Technology Integration & Innovation Evaluate and integrate AI technologies (e.g., natural language processing for automating invoice and expense categorization, computer vision for document processing and validation, machine learning for anomaly detection, risk scoring, and financial forecasting, and recommendation systems for client advisory insights) into existing data workflows Strategically migrate Excel-based processes to more scalable solutions using Python, BI tools, or cloud platforms when appropriate Build dashboards, visualizations, and automated reporting tools to communicate findings and drive data-driven decision-making Stay current with emerging analytics technologies and AI/ML developments to bring innovative applications that improve business outcomes Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Physics, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field At least 3 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or similar field with demonstrated Excel expertise Proven track record as an advanced Excel power user with experience in VBA, Power Query, Power Pivot, and complex modeling Strong business acumen with experience working in cross-functional teams and directly with external clients Demonstrated track record in driving business impact through analytics, insights, and Excel automation solutions Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present technical Excel solutions and analytics to non-technical stakeholders Experience with data privacy regulations and governance frameworks when handling sensitive client data Accounting, finance, or business process optimization background is a plus Technical and Other Skills: Excel Mastery & Automation Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including advanced formulas, pivot tables, Power Query, Power Pivot, and data modeling capabilities Advanced VBA programming skills for creating automated solutions, custom functions, and complex macros Experience integrating Excel with external data sources, APIs, and databases for automated data refresh and processing Knowledge of Excel's integration capabilities with Python (xlwings, openpyxl) and other programming languages Analytics & Programming Working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) concepts, with experience applying them to enhance Excel-based analysis, forecasting, and business decision‑making Proficient in SQL for data extraction and transformation; advanced working knowledge of Python for statistical analysis and Excel automation Experience with Python libraries for Excel automation and data processing (pandas, xlwings, openpyxl) Strong grasp of statistical techniques including forecasting, regression, and A/B testing within Excel and complementary tools Business Intelligence & Data Platforms Skilled in data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker for creating interactive dashboards that complement Excel-based solutions Understanding of CRM/ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, SAP) and how to integrate them with Excel for comprehensive analytics Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, AWS Redshift) and their integration with Excel workflows Experience with data warehouses, ETL processes, and tools for data cleaning and transformation that feed into Excel models Collaboration & Process Understanding of data governance frameworks, data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA), and security best practices for handling sensitive client data in Excel environments Exposure to Agile/Scrum practices and project collaboration tools Experience documenting Excel solutions, creating user guides, and training others on automated Excel workflows CORE COMPETENCIES Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
