Materials Planner

Overview Universal Robina Corporation is looking for a Materials Supply Planner (Reliever). Materials Planner orchestrates the overall supply plan per assigned category for imported and local raw and packaging materials, by planning and ordering the material requirements. Maintain the desired levels of inventory in order to support production plans with the right quantity, at the right time, and in the most cost-effective manner. The Materials Planner coordinates container vans and material deliveries with the plant, and other potential issues that will affect production and material planning to Procurement/Import Managers. This role informs possible stock outs and supply constraints to the Area Supply Planning Team Lead and Export and Food Service Supply Planning Manager, coordinates schedules and discusses plant concerns with Plant Operations and SC Operations, and collaborates with ISD Group on SAP-MRP projects and issues. It also discusses, reviews and aligns Bill of Materials master data, updating RMPM usages in the SAP system to HQ Technical Support Group and Corp IE. Externally, it discusses, reviews and aligns schedules with orders; informs possible stock outs and supply constraints to URC Affiliates, Toll Packers/SMI Suppliers. Reports to Category Supply Planning Manager / Materials Supply Planning Manager. Responsibilities Define Materials Planning Rules, Goals and Strategies. Maintain the correct master data in the system for each material (e.g., EOQ, MOQ, Safety Stocks, Replenishment Lead Times, Shipping Mode) for both imported and local materials. Provide warehouse operations with the monthly requirement for warehouse space analysis for both imported and local materials to allocate space per commodity specification. Coordinate with Plant Logistics on special handling requirements as specified by Technology, QA, procurement, or supplier. Maintain the inventory day’s supply for each material per location to support production plans. Engage in conceptualization, planning stages and phases for new product launches. Generate Materials Plan and review material status, pending orders, and timing of arrivals at the local port with Procurement and Import. Generate MRP based on the Bill of Materials explosion from the finished goods forecast per default production location. Prepare Purchase Orders for local materials with manual Purchase Requests from each plant; convert “For Orders” in MRP to Purchase Orders for imported materials. Audit production usage to ensure inventory consumption aligns with updated quantities. Consolidate material requirements and generate volume for contract loading; process Purchases Orders. Facilitate order processing documents (Proforma, Approved PO, Info Sheet, Import Permit). Allocate incoming shipments per plant and monitor payment; provide documents needed for port release. Review, close or cancel open purchase orders; coordinate with suppliers on delivery performance and exception resolution. Discuss supplier capacity, internal storage space, and other constraints ahead of production scheduling analysis. Communicate with procurement and key suppliers during bi-monthly collaborative reviews and planning routines. Recommend final MRP, inventory day’s level and initiate possible interplant transfers to meet overall production plans. Review monthly critical reports and pursue planning evaluation and improvement. Reduce variability in material supply by addressing root causes and updating master data; monitor KPIs such as production compliance to plans. Monitor on-time supplier deliveries, cycle times, and actual material usage versus plans. Plan inventory levels based on criticality and seasonality; optimize inventory via EOQ and procurement hedging; evaluate ageing inventories per plant. What are the qualifications? Education A Bachelor in Science graduate preferably Industrial Engineering, or any four-year course with Supply Chain related or Linear Programming subjects. Experience, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required At least two (2) years of experience in the Planning environment, particularly Production Planning and/or Materials Planning. Exposure to Inbound and Outbound Logistics Operations and Distribution. Hands-on experience or knowledge in SAP-APO Planning and Inventory Management modules. Computer literacy in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and other optimization tools in SAP-APO. Leadership qualities, assertive, honest and hardworking; ability to communicate effectively and work well with others as a team player. Ability to work with least supervision; willingness to work in a project-based position.
