Overview Senior Remote Bookkeeper position for a U.S.-based firm. This part-time role (4 hours per day) involves managing financial operations across six affiliated companies, setting up the accounting system, managing QuickBooks Online, integrating with Bill.com, and coordinating with the operations team. Remote work with potential for growth as the organization expands. Responsibilities Set up and manage six separate QuickBooks Online accounts, ensuring clean segregation and standardized account structures. Implement and integrate accounting processes across all entities to streamline payables and automate workflows. Handle daily transaction posting, categorization, and full bank/credit card reconciliations. Collaborate with the operations team to track accounts receivable, monitor cash flow, and ensure accurate revenue recognition. Maintain and reconcile intercompany transactions across all business entities. Support monthly close processes and generate financial statements and management reports. Develop and document standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for financial workflows and reporting. Assist with multi-state sales tax compliance, including coordination with platforms such as Avalara. Integrate and manage financial data from systems such as Shopify, Fishbowl, and ADP payroll. Support financial communications with third-party vendors, insurance providers, and internal stakeholders. Offer proactive recommendations on accounting process improvements, reporting structures, and financial controls. Qualifications Minimum 4 years of bookkeeping experience with direct involvement in U.S.-based, multi-entity operations. Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online, including multi-company management. Proven experience with setup and troubleshooting of accounting systems. Strong knowledge of AR/AP processes, sales tax compliance, and payroll systems (e.g., ADP). Proficient in Excel, Google Workspace, and financial platforms (e.g., Avalara, Shopify, Fishbowl). Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and documentation skills. Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to work independently in a remote setting and maintain accountability. Part-time: 4 hours per day (20 hours/week) with flexibility, aligned to U.S. Pacific or Eastern Time. Fully remote with long-term potential for increased hours as companies grow.
