Senior Telecommunications Design Engineer

Overview

Senior Telecommunications Design Engineer (Low-Voltage) to support the growth of our Introba business in the Philippines, with intrabuilding structured cabling design, familiar with the TIA and BICSI guidelines. An RCCD is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain relationships with clients and serve as one of the clients’ primary points of contact. Define clear communication channels and provide regular project updates, ensuring all stakeholders are informed of progress, changes, or delays.
• Lead the design of technology systems, including the development of specifications, budgets, and documentation. Proficiency in tools such as Revit and AutoCAD is beneficial in creating effective design solutions.
• Serve as the Senior Consultant, guiding clients through the early programming and visioning stages to establish clear project goals and expectations.
• Support programmatic reports, sketches, and budgets to communicate recommendations to clients in a manufacturer-neutral, iterative fashion.
• Support project budget: track and manage the project budget for the duration of the project.
• Lead project meetings; establish meeting agendas; document meeting minutes, maintain action items, and issue logs while supporting the overall project schedule.
• Act as the Sr. Consultant during user meetings to develop requirements by system, department, and room; effectively document the client requirements and communicate to the internal design Team along with the external design team (architect, civil, MEP engineers, etc.).
• Lead the development of the detailed design documents, including drawings and specifications for systems and supporting infrastructure, and review construction documents for quality and coordination.
• Act as the Sr. Consultant to develop necessary RFPs for equipment or services, answer bid period questions, issue a clarifying agenda, and review proposals and tabulate format to assist the client in selection.
• Oversee construction phases and conduct periodic site visits to ensure contractors adhere to design intent, specifications, quality, and objectives while answering RFIs to resolve coordination and construction issues.
• Lead, develop, and manage punch lists for each system; support the development of transition and move plans; support final commissioning of systems and end-user training while tracking and managing close-out activities and documentation.
• Attend professional developmental seminars and conferences to stay abreast of industry changes and advances.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a Lead Designer, with a proven track record of leading design meetings, developing telecom system designs, writing specifications, creating bills of materials, reviewing submittals and test reports, and providing construction administration support.
• At least 10 years of professional experience within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid or remote environment, from a TYLin office, or on-site at client locations, depending on project requirements.
• Proficiency in Windows 10 (or higher) environment.
• Advanced knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote) and AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, etc.
