Overview

The Finance Specialist role offers opportunities to work with a global company. This role will help the Company consistently meet and exceed compliance with government authorities and participate in expansion activities and ongoing projects. The Specialist identifies and capitalizes on available tax incentives while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure the timely filing, submission, and payment of compliance requirements of the entity and its affiliates to regulatory and tax agencies.
  • Ensure accurate tax computation for filing to tax authorities on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, as well as during audits.
  • Monitor the renewals of business permits for the entity and its affiliates.
  • Monitor the application of the Company to government registrations necessary for the business (e.g., registration of new entity/branch, tax incentives, etc.).
  • Assist in addressing and managing tax notices and assessments, including robust document and schedule preparation, assessment of findings, and reviewing draft reply/protest letters for review by the Tax Manager before submission to tax authorities.
  • Highlight improvement areas in the team’s current processes and propose solutions.
  • Assist in transfer pricing requirements.
  • Maintain relationships with external government agencies and external support suppliers (law firms, audit firms, accounting firms).
  • Participate in internally driven projects and initiatives.
  • Participate in tax seminars and symposiums to stay abreast of current tax laws.
  • Other ad hoc tasks, such as providing advisory services to internal stakeholders on matters relating to compliance.

Skills and Competencies
  • CPA is required; Juris Doctor is preferred but not required
  • Global tax experience is required
  • Strong knowledge of PH taxation, regulations, and investment promotion agencies such as PEZA or BOI
  • Prior experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks or Sage is preferred
  • Strong familiarity with productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Suite (365) and Google Suite
  • Prior experience using database tools and spreadsheet software such as MySQL, Excel, and Google Sheets is a plus
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Willingness to collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information
  • Willingness to actively engage in on-site activities and legwork required for government registrations, demonstrating a hands-on and proactive approach
  • Willingness to adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a resident or willing to be relocated within Metro Manila
  • Willing to work in a virtual environment, full time or 40 hours per week
Educational and Certification Requirements

A Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy

Relevant Experience Required

At least 4 to 6 years prior experience in handling the same function

Direct Reports and Span of Control

This role will be responsible for one or two Analysts.
