Senior SQL Database Developer

We are seeking a Database Developer to assist in building out database schema, supporting existing databases, monitoring performance, and deploying schema changes between our environments for our development team. You will also be responsible for delivering data to our customers using feeds and reports, identifying SQL performance problems, proposing new solutions, and implementing changes to resolve these issues. In this role, you will work with Developers, Architects, and Business Analysts to develop and resolve current issues, and collaborate with DevOps, Project Managers, and management to provide necessary data for report writers as requested. You will also gain exposure to the many other products and platforms that our team develops and/or uses. Primary Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions Implement and maintain database security measures Develop and execute database scripts, stored procedures, and functions Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues Work within the Agile methodology to deliver high-quality software solutions Complex data manipulation leveraging AI for reviewing and validating files Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regard to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field 2+ years of experience in SQL database development 2+ years experience in Data analysis Experience with performance tuning and optimization Solid understanding of database design principles and best practices Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in Agile teams Solid excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Solid communication and collaboration skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proven highly accountable and self-motivated Preferred Qualifications Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) Knowledge of NoSQL databases At UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
