Responsibilities

  • Assist in the conduct of different RESEARCH activities, focusing on the Purposive Search of the Ilin Cloudrunner
  • Assess forest stands and other habitats within research sites
  • Draft and complete short progress and technical reports
  • Assist in preparing the logistical needs, such as equipment, supplies, and materials, required for primary data gathering
  • Assist in preparing presentations of key findings of surveys to relevant stakeholders
  • Attend and participate in team meetings
  • Perform other assignments and activities with regard to duties and responsibilities that the Research Program Officer may assign
Qualifications
  • Graduate of a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Forestry or other related fields
  • Knowledgeable in program design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation
  • Fully mobile and willing to travel in areas of operation
  • With excellent diplomatic skills and a desire to work with local government agencies, IPs, NGOs, and other relevant stakeholders
  • Capable of dealing sensitively with the local community with an awareness of rural and cultural issues
  • Self-motivated and committed to community empowerment
  • Ability to follow deadlines, attention to detail, and a high level of computer literacy (MS Office applications, GIS, modeling, statistics, etc.)
  • Excellent skills in oral communication and writing technical reports
  • Ability to multitask, analyze, and prioritize work independently
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work professionally and interact at all levels

We lead scientific research and catalyze collaborative and participative conservation efforts in key biodiversity areas of Mindoro, resulting in empowerment through increased awareness and care.
