About The Role
As a Data Specialist , you will provide administrative support by assisting with data entry and the management of the GRID database system. You will collaborate with GRID Support to keep the database running reliably, ensure that data is secure, and provide users with the tools and education needed to input and export accurate data. Your role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, proficiency in Microsoft Office products, hands-on experience with databases, and a strong understanding of data entry best practices and creating reports.
Responsibilities
  • Primary point of contact for questions pertaining to database usage at the project level.
  • Users will approach the data specialist for database questions prior to consulting with GRID Support. The data specialist will determine if the issue must be escalated to the GRID Support team.
  • Determine client reporting needs and coordinate with GRID Support if new reports are needed.
  • The LAD Managing Director will review the client reporting requirements for the project on or before the project Kick off meeting (KOM). The data specialist for the project will ensure the data points are available and correspond with the client’s requirements, and coordinate with GRID support when custom reports are needed.

  • Determine team members responsible for tracking deliverables in the database.
  • Coordinate role/permission needs for the Project Team to GRID team
  • Include roster with team assignments on the LAD “fact sheet” that identifies each team member's GRID database role.
  • Establish data entry and reporting workflows and processes for each project.

  • Set up training with all team members at the beginning of each project.
  • Train new team members throughout the project.
  • Ensuring accurate and efficient data entry through training and QA/QC of data.
  • Follow up with QC to ensure comprehension of training.
  • Verify completeness and accuracy of data entered by other parties.
  • QC the data for accuracy by periodically exporting reports for quality assurance.
  • Review data for deficiencies or errors and make corrections as needed.
  • Coordinate corrections to data-related issues with Project Team
  • Troubleshoot functional issues to determine the cause.
  • Coordinate resolution of functional issues with Project Team
  • Coordinate resolution of technical issues/requests with GRID team
  • Assist with testing and approving database enhancements.
  • Assist the GRID Support team upon request.
  • Provide demos of database function to employees and clients.
  • Provide GRID access to projects.
Must-Have
Competencies and Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in data entry, database administration, or data support roles
  • Experience in QA/QC or data verification preferred
  • Experience with database systems (e.g., Salesforce, Access, SQL-based systems, or proprietary platforms).
  • Experience supporting or training end users on database systems is a plus
  • Familiarity with report generation and data exports/imports
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, data validation).
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team environment with project coordination responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and resolving functional and technical issues.
  • Comfortable conducting demos and clearly communicating database functionality.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies or gaps in data.
  • Fluency in English: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to independently compose clear and professional routine correspondence.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Proactive mindset; not afraid to ask questions for clarity and accuracy.
  • Reliable internet connection and equipment.
Nice-to-Have
  • Experience conducting user training sessions and creating support documentation.
  • Experience defining workflows and managing user roles/permissions across projects.
  • Familiarity with workflow documentation or SOP creation
