The Unix/Linux Systems Administrator will provide round-the-clock operational support for mission-critical enterprise systems. This role is responsible for server provisioning, patching, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and end-to-end lifecycle management of Unix/Linux environments. The administrator ensures high availability, compliance with client SLAs, and proactive issue prevention in alignment with global IT standards.

The Role.
  • Administer and support Unix/Linux servers (installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades).
  • Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability, ensuring SLA adherence.
  • Perform incident, problem, and change management following ITIL processes.
  • Troubleshoot OS, application, and middleware issues, escalating when required.
  • Implement user management, security hardening, and access control .
  • Support virtualization platforms (VMware, OpenStack, NFV/SDN environments).
  • Manage application servers (WebLogic, WebSphere, Tomcat) and integrate with DB systems (Oracle, PostgreSQL).
  • Coordinate with backup/storage/network teams for cross-domain incidents.
  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and document preventive actions.
  • Ensure compliance with disaster recovery (DR) procedures and participate in DR drills.
The Expertise.
  • 5+ years’ hands-on experience in Unix/Linux administration .
  • Strong knowledge of RHOCP, GitOps, and containerization technologies .
  • Familiarity with Spring Boot, MERN stack, and microservices – advantage.
  • Proven experience supporting databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL) and middleware.
  • Exposure to public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCP) .
