Senior Manual Tester

Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or College degree in Industrial Engineering, Management Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field. API and SQL testing experience. At least five (5) years working experience in Quality Assurance and/or testing. Proficient in writing test cases and test scripts. Experience in creating a Master Test plan. In-depth understanding of Test Design Techniques, QA methodologies and Software Development Life Cycle (Waterfall and Agile). Extensive knowledge of QA testing tools, test design techniques, standards and processes. Exposure to business operations related to manufacturing, distribution and financial operations is an advantage. Experience in various system development environments. Experience leading a small QA team in small to medium sized projects is an advantage. ISTQB Testing certification is a plus but not required. Job Summary Ensures that business requirement specification are analyzed, understood properly, and able to translate into functional specifications and test cases. Evaluates and tests new or modified software programs and software development procedures used to verify if programs are functioning according to user requirements and conform to established guidelines. Ensures that the system is released conforming to the functions and requirements set and agreed by the customer and development, supported by the Test Summary Report and/or Acceptance Test Certificate. Reviews test cases and test reports created by team members. Provides valuable inputs on improving processes within ESSPI and arising from system-related changes. Applies knowledge and experience to mostly routine situations; application of working or functional knowledge and capability in a particular process or method; performs independent action according to acceptable standards and guidelines; may require minimal assistance in unfamiliar situations. Responsibilities Quality Process Mastery Understand and comply with the defined and agreed Software Development Life Cycle and CMMI standards of the organization. Understand various approaches used in testing such as System, Integration and Regression. Apply appropriate test design techniques in writing test cases. Create test effort estimation based on the provided requirements for small to large sized projects. Develop effective test strategies and plans. Create a Master Test Plan. Review test cases and test scripts written by team members. Write test cases and test scripts, create test data and requirement traceability matrix. Properly execute the given test cases / test scripts, identify correct behavior, replicate and report uncovered defects. Test and certify software defect fixes and new functionality. Execute functional, application and regression tests for software releases. Perform the activities necessary to execute tests in accordance with the test plan and test design. Write clear and precise defect reports as required for identified software defects and functional defects based on testing results. Write and submit Test Summary Report and/or Acceptance Test Certificate. Facilitate the peer review of the RTM, test cases and test summary report and/or acceptance test certificate. Review and analyze test results and make recommendations. Enforce quality procedures and guidelines across the Software Development Life Cycle. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the QA procedures and guidelines. Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, break down understanding, and classify user requests between must‑have and not. Deliver the following documents as needed: Functional Requirements and Use Cases, proactively communicate and collaborate with customers to analyze information needs and business requirements. Satisfy customer by providing clear testing specifications and quality product according to specified requirements. Collaborate with Automation Quality Analysts for the initiation of automation testing for the project if possible. Execute the automated testing and perform maintenance if necessary and/or requested by the customer. Exhibit confidence in understanding the business concerns and provide sound business suggestions and recommendations accordingly. Administrative Tasks Record activities in ATLAS and report/elevate issues to superior when needed. Conduct needed validation to ensure compliance to the procedures in CMMI. Prepare and submit needed reports. Lead testing activities, handle, and resolve minor risks and issues. Mentor and guide Junior Manual Quality Analyst and Manual Quality Analyst. Teamwork Coordinate closely with other team members of the applications development and support. Facilitate effective team interaction adhering to the values of the company and meeting the objectives. Adjust flexibly to help other team members to ensure continuity of providing service. Learning and Development Expand knowledge on business process and IT related information. Stay abreast of current technology, system information, problems, changes and updates relevant to the team.
