The System Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of Windows and Linux-based servers and virtualization platforms. The role ensures servers and related infrastructure operate efficiently, securely, and are aligned with PSSLAI’s IT standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage and support Windows and Linux server environments. Administer directory services, group policies, and remote server access. Perform system health monitoring, performance tuning, and backup verification. Apply OS patches, firmware upgrades, and configuration changes. Respond to incidents and participate in root cause analysis and resolution. Maintain up-to-date technical documentation and ensure compliance with security baselines. Proficiency in Windows Server and Linux administration. Experience in virtualization platforms and high availability clusters. Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS/DHCP configurations. Strong troubleshooting skills for OS and system-level issues. Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash) and familiarity with ITSM tools. Perform Baseline Assessment for Technical Specification on all environments. Perform Monthly and Zero-day patches for both Windows and Linux servers. REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: Strong proficiency in OpenShift, Kubernetes, and containerization tools. Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, IBM Cloud, Azure). Familiar with DevOps pipelines, GitOps workflows, and automation scripts. Solid understanding of Linux system administration and scripting. Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent. 3–5 years of experience in system administration roles. Certifications in Microsoft (MCSA/MCSE), Red Hat (RHCSA), or VMware (VCP) are preferred.
