The Deputy Head of the Financial Services Division is responsible for overseeing the preparation and timely submission of the Company’s financial statements and regulatory reports, ensuring full compliance with the requirements of regulatory bodies such as the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Bureau of Internal Revenue. This role also manages various inquiries and compliance requirements from these agencies and external auditors, ensuring accurate and transparent communication of the Company’s financial position. Additionally, this position will provide critical support to one of our key clients who are leaders in the investment sector, ensuring their financial reporting and regulatory obligations are met with precision and integrity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervises and coordinates the activities of the Bookkeeping, Tax & Reports Unit Head, Accounting and Tax Officer, Treasury Operations Officer, Bookkeeper, and Securities Custodian.
• Ensures the accurate and timely remittance and payment of taxes, adhering to regulatory deadlines and standards.
• Oversees the timely booking of Company transactions, ensuring the Company’s books of accounts, general ledgers, and subsidiary ledgers are consistently updated.
• Reviews monthly schedules and reconciles them with supporting documents, ensuring all balances are accurately reflected in the Trial Balance.
• Facilitates periodic closing of books and reviews adjusting and closing entries to ensure propriety and accuracy.
• Prepare monthly financial statements in accurate and timeliness, supporting effective decision-making.
• Prepares and submits daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports for regulatory agencies (i.e., Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and Securities and Exchange Commission) in an accurate and timely manner, avoiding penalties or sanctions.
• Responds to queries from internal and external auditors, as well as regulatory bodies such as BSP and SEC, with comprehensive and accurate information.
• Prepares additional financial reports as requested by the Head of FSD, Compliance Head, and the Company’s internal and external auditors.
• Assist in drafting replies to audit findings, ensuring clear and detailed responses.
• Acts as a back-up person for the FSD Head, Treasury Operations Unit Head, Tax & Reports Unit Head, and Accounting & Tax Officer during their absences, ensuring continuity in operations.
• Approves accounting vouchers and journal tickets, ensuring appropriate authorization.
• Serves as the designated alternate custodian of the Company’s valuables and the alternate holder of the vault combination. 14. Acts as Business Information Officer of the Company.
• Other duties as assigned, ensuring flexibility and adaptability in meeting organization needs.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• At least ten (10) years of experience in accounting within a bank or investment house with quasi-banking operations.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
• Technically literate - with intermediate skills on standard office productivity software and basic understanding of common computer terminologies.
• Strong foundation in accounting principles and practices, with extensive knowledge of the investment banking business, including plans and strategies, regulatory requirements, and bank policies and standards.
• With intermediate skills on process analysis and project management.
