Node.js Cybersecurity Engineer

At Career TEAM we work to “accelerate the human condition.” Working on our state-of-the-edge portal Career EDGE, you will change lives and that’s just the beginning As a founding member of our newly forming security team, you will fortify our Node.js-based stack—Next.js, Nest.js, MongoDB—to defend against modern threats in a generative-AI-powered landscape.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, build, and maintain secure full-stack applications using Node.js, Nest.js, Next.js
• Embed security controls (input validation, output encoding, secure session management) into our JS/TS codebase
• Lead threat modeling and architecture reviews, focusing on Node.js runtime and API layers
• Build automated security testing frameworks (SAST, DAST) into our CI/CD pipelines
• Monitor application and infrastructure logs for suspicious activity; drive incident response
• Partner with DevOps to implement zero-trust networking, secret management, and container hardening
• Educate engineers on secure coding practices and emerging Node.js vulnerabilities

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field
• 2+ years’ experience developing and securing Node.js/MERN-style applications
• Strongly prefer candidates with FedRAMP/SOC2 experience and AWS certifications
• Experience with MongoDB security features (encryption at rest, role-based access control)
• Familiarity with Nest.js/Express middleware and Next.js API routes security
• Hands-on with Docker, Terraform, Jira, VS Code, Postman, and GitHub workflows
• Proven track record building CI/CD pipelines with integrated security scans
• Comfortable deploying to and securing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
