About the role Processing up to Trial Balance stage and preparing financial statements for lodgment with the Australian Taxation Office. Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analysing accounts. Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries. Reconcile GST that has gone through the fund with what’s been paid to the ATO. Prepare private tax returns, company, trust, partnership, SMSF tax returns and end-of-year compliance jobs. Complete required tax reporting in a timely manner. Research and correct process errors that caused incorrect tax filings and negotiate with tax authorities over tax payment issues. Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential. Offer open lines of communication between management to ensure targets are met. Prepare working papers for all jobs and update tax provision schedules. Training and review of work prepared by junior staff members. About you We are looking for an A-star individual, passionate and competent with what they do and bringing the WOW with the following qualifications: Graduate of Accountancy or Accounting Technology; CPA licensed is an advantage. More than 3 years of Australian Tax Accounting experience. Excellent communication skills - written and verbal. Attentive to details and organized. Experience with Xero and Xero Practice Manager.
