We are looking for an experienced Video Editor to join our team. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a knack for storytelling, and excel at crafting compelling video content for Meta and YouTube ads, this role is for you.
What We Want You To Do
The Video Editor will be responsible for creating, editing, and optimizing high-performing video ads tailored to YouTube ads. You'll collaborate with our creative and marketing teams to ensure the content aligns with campaign goals while pushing creative boundaries.
This role is ideal for a creative self-starter who enjoys testing new ideas and driving results in a data-informed, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- YouTube-Focused Video Production: Lead end-to-end development of YouTube ad content—from concept and scripting through editing, and final delivery—tailored to eCommerce and D2C brands. Utilize hooks, thumbnails, pacing, and pacing to maximize engagement in the first few seconds.
- Innovative Ad Creative Development: Proactively ideate and pitch original creative formats, angles, and series to craft a unique "signature" style. Regularly test new structures, thumbnails, and visual styles to uncover breakthrough formats.
- Comprehensive A/B and Platform Testing: Design and execute rigorous A/B testing of video variations—audience hooks, pacing, captions, motion graphics—to identify and amplify top-performing creative. Stay nimble based on emerging data.
- Advanced Motion Graphics & Visual Flair: Integrate motion graphics, kinetic typography, animations, overlays, and sound design to amplify storytelling and brand personality—ensuring each ad is visually distinct and on-brand.
- Colour Grading & Audio Engineering: Elevate production quality through nuanced colour correction, grading, audio balancing, voice-overs, ambient sound integration, and strategic SFX/music cues.
- Trend Intelligence & Creative Evolution: Stay ahead of YouTube and social video trends—formats, styles, audio, challenges—and incorporate them creatively while maintaining brand voice.
- Cross-Platform Adaptation: Optimize and repurpose Meta & TikTok assets into YouTube creative both Shorts and Long Form, ensuring consistent visual language across formats.
- Strategic Data Integration: Leverage analytics insights—CTR, watch-time, view-through—to refine editing strategies and prioritize creative adjustments that drive KPI improvements .
- Mentorship & Collaboration: Serve as a creative leader—guide junior editors through best practices in editing, motion gear, and YouTube optimization. Offer feedback loops and lightweight training sessions.
- Efficient Workflow & Asset Management: Implement systems for organizing raw assets, version control, templates, and file hygiene. Maintain smooth handoffs with producers, copywriters, and media buyers.
- Production Support & Pre-Planning: Assist in pre-production—develop storyboards, shot lists, asset prep, thumbnail concepts, and voice-over scripts.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct final QA on each deliverable, verifying platform specs, metadata integrity, branding alignment, and visual/audio sync.
- Self-Starter & Process Optimization: Identify and implement workflow efficiencies, propose new editing tools (e.g., AI plugins, Figma, Frame.io), and champion faster turnaround without sacrificing quality
You're Perfect If You Have
- Excellent English both Verbal and Written
- Minimum 5 years of professional video editing experience, preferably in digital marketing or eCommerce
- Proven track record of creating successful video ads for YouTube (YouTube experience will be prioritized)
- Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end video production, including concept development, editing, and final delivery
- Advanced knowledge of video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, or similar tools).
- Proficiency in creating motion graphics and animations for ads
- Strong understanding of aspect ratios, resolution standards, video compression, and rendering for digital platforms
- Ability to propose and execute unique and "out-of-the-box" ideas to drive engagement
- Expertise in crafting high-impact storytelling within the constraints of short ad formats
- Deep understanding of hooks, pacing, and emotional resonance to optimize audience engagement
- Deep knowledge of Google and YouTube ad platforms, including their specific requirements and audience preferences
- Familiarity with A/B testing and iterative design for ad creatives
- Basic understanding of video analytics tools to track performance and inform creative iterations
- Ability to analyze video performance metrics (CTR, views, engagement rates) and use insights to improve future campaigns
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a remote team
- Ability to clearly present creative concepts and performance insights to stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- High attention to detail, ensuring the quality and consistency of all creative output
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Adaptable and receptive to feedback, with a willingness to pivot based on data and team input
