Senior Foreign Markets Analyst

Overview Join the Senior Foreign Markets Analyst role at Manulife. The Foreign Markets team coordinates market setups, ensures compliance with local rules and regulations, and manages renewals and updates to support International Trading. The Senior Foreign Markets Analyst will coordinate Foreign Markets openings for Manulife Funds, work with custodian banks to determine requirements for market location setups, and engage internal and external contacts to ensure timely completion. The analyst will also assist in related tasks such as monitoring Settlement Instructions, liaising between trading desks and brokers, providing periodic status reports, and assisting with Proxy POAs. Responsibilities Liaise with Custodian Banks to support day-to-day operations for International Trading. Interface with operations teams, legal, compliance, and front office to ensure availability to trade in required markets. Coordinate Settlement Instructions setup. Act as liaison between trading desk and brokers. Oversee changes with local custodians and ensure documentation is completed timely to maintain operations. Assist in renewal of Proxy POAs for various international markets. Ensure clear and concise process documentation is created and maintained up to date. Oversee onboarding cases to align with function goals and timelines. Ensure quality standards across end-to-end onboarding; identify inaccuracies or defects. Mentor junior associates by conducting training and updating reference materials. Facilitate regular calibration trainings for the team. Provide project support by researching, identifying needs, and developing/implementing solutions. Participate in calls with external parties to raise discrepancies and propose action plans. Attend trainings and seminars to stay updated with market changes and industry practices. Drive process improvements and collaborate with technology partners for data enhancements. Liaise with stakeholders to resolve issues and escalations; initiate and execute action plans to mitigate risk. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field. Prior Investment Wealth Fund Experience and knowledge on Global Markets Prior Middle Office, Accounting, Client service, Custody and/or Investment Operations management experience is an advantage Familiarity of operational tasks associated with establishing client accounts Highly developed stakeholder management skills Expert communication and presentation skills Advance Excel skills Preferred Qualifications Strong attention to detail with ability to create clear and concise process documentation Disciplined analytical and organizational skills.
