Embedded Software Engineer

Responsibilities Design, implement and test features with scalability, performance, deployment or operation and end-user experience in mind Apply coding/implementation best practices to produce elegant, high quality and reusable code Implement and follow security best practices for web applications Collaborate with other developers to share knowledge and improve overall product/solution Keep up-to-date with latest technologies evolution and frameworks Interact with UX team to implement and verify user experience concepts Follow the agile methodology used for the project, including creation of user stories and corresponding tasks Regularly archive source code into the repository for projects Participate in issue investigation and deployment of applications and new releases in testing/integration environments as needed Qualifications Master of Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field Experience in DevOps/Agile/Scrum environments and challenging, reactive, resourceful work Experience in real-time environments with low-level hardware interaction and ensuring high-level functionality Experience with embedded devices such as Radar, embedded equipment, Smartcards and Wearables in Telecommunications and IoT Experience developing on embedded OS software such as Linux, VxWorks, FastOS Experience in embedded software development in C/C++ (and other listed languages as applicable) Familiarity with programming performance tools and measurement instruments Experience with simulation tools and integration/testing on platforms Experience in embedded system and application design and configuration and knowledge of communication protocols/interfaces (e.g., DDS, ARINC) Knowledge of data processes, mathematics, statistics, and data technologies Ability to consider customer needs Working experience/knowledge with cloud providers like AWS or GCP Experience with automated deployment and related technologies (Helm/Yaml/Ansible/Docker) Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence Nice to have Specific domain/product/project knowledge to be filled in by Engineering Manager or Talent Acquisition Life at Thales — Software Real Time & Embedded Engineering As a Software Real Time & Embedded Engineering role within Thales, you will: Design, implement and test features with scalability, performance, deployment or operation and end-user experience in mind Apply coding/implementation best practices to produce elegant, high quality and reusable code Implement and follow security best practices for web applications Collaborate with other developers to share knowledge and improve overall product/solution Keep up-to-date with latest technologies and frameworks Interact with UX team to implement and verify user experience concepts Follow the agile methodology used for the project, including creation of user stories and tasks to build a robust system Regularly archive source code into the repository for projects Participate in issue investigation and deployments in testing/integration environments Your career at Thales Future opportunities will allow you to discover other domains or sites.
