Job Summary

We are looking for a technically skilled and solution-oriented GCP Data Engineer to strengthen our cloud data infrastructure. This role is central to building and maintaining automated, scalable data pipelines using Google Cloud services. You will work closely with our Analytics Engineers, IT, and DevOps teams to ensure robust data operations, event-driven workflows, and well-governed infrastructure.

Your contributions will directly support centralized reporting, system integrations, and the automation of complex data processes across KCC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines using BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Datastream (CDC) .
  • Build event-driven workflows using Cloud Functions (Node.js or Python) for transformation, alerting, and integration.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform .
  • Develop and manage CI/CD workflows via GitHub Actions to streamline deployments.
  • Write and maintain advanced SQL queries for data transformation and validation.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot workflows and serverless functions for performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with Analytics, IT, and DevOps to ensure scalable and maintainable data architecture.
  • Document pipelines, infrastructure components, and operational logic clearly and consistently.
Skills/Competencies
  • Proficiency with BigQuery and writing complex SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with GCP services : Datastream, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, IAM.
  • Experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD principles; preferably GitHub Actions.
  • Familiarity with Git-based collaboration and PR workflows.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve pipeline or function-level issues independently.
  • Clear communicator who can document and explain technical processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a mindset for automation and scalability.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in cloud data engineering, preferably on GCP.
  • Proven track record of deploying production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Proficiency in Python or Node.js for scripting and Cloud Functions.
  • Experience working with modern data tools (bonus: Airbyte, dbt, Looker, Dataform).
  • Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools like Cloud Monitoring, Stackdriver, or Prometheus.
  • Understanding of cloud security, IAM, and access governance.
  • GCP certifications (e.g., Professional Data Engineer , Cloud DevOps Engineer) are a plus.
Work Arrangement
  • Location: Philippines preferred. We encourage applicants based near our office for hybrid work (2–3 days/week in office), but are open to fully remote arrangements for strong candidates.
