Overview

The General Ledger Accountant will be responsible for managing core accounting processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The role supports period-end close, internal and external audits, and compliance activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong internal controls. This position requires both technical accounting expertise and a proactive, analytical approach to process improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports in line with US and global accounting policies.
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and discrepancies.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and automation in general ledger accounting.
  • Utilize ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or IFS) and reporting tools (Excel, Qlik Sense, Podio, Power BI) to drive efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of general ledger or accounting experience in a corporate environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, IFS preferred).
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, data analysis).
  • CPA Or CMA Certification Is Preferred But Not Required.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proactive and collaborative approach, with attention to detail in a high-volume environment.
