Overview Responsible for leading and supervising the accounting department to ensure accurate financial reporting, effective internal controls, compliance with Philippine accounting and tax regulations, and timely support for management decision-making. The role requires both operational expertise and strategic oversight in all areas of accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, taxation, inventory audit, and financial reporting. Additionally, the Accounting Supervisor provides guidance on financial strategy, risk management, and contributes to long-term business planning. Duties and Responsibilities Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering continuous development and succession readiness. Supervise the accounting team in carrying out daily financial transactions and monthly/annual closing activities. Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules. Oversee general accounting operations, including but not limited to: Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable, Bank Reconciliation, Tax Compliance (VAT, Withholding Tax, Income Tax, etc.), Inventory & Cost Accounting, Inventory Audit, and Fixed Assets Management. Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis prepared by accounting staff. Monitor changes in accounting and taxation regulations, ensuring compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and BIR requirements. Drive process improvements and automation to increase efficiency, accuracy, and reliability of accounting operations. Partner with other departments (e.g., Sales Supply Chain, eCommerce) to ensure proper cost allocation, inventory valuation, and revenue recognition. Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements. Provide support in budget preparation, forecasting, variance analysis, and strategic financial planning to aid management decisions. Coordinate with external auditors, banks, and government agencies as necessary. Lead implementation and monitoring of internal controls to mitigate risks and safeguard company assets. Recommend process enhancements to strengthen financial reporting, operational transparency, and risk management. Conduct financial performance analysis to support cost optimization, profitability, and strategic growth initiatives. Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper financial recording of business activities, especially e-commerce transactions. Qualifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required. Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field. Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity. Solid knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), taxation, and regulatory requirements. Experience in e-commerce, retail, or trading industries is an advantage. Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, NetSuite) and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Knowledge of business intelligence or reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau) preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. High level of integrity, accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure. Exposure to ERP implementation or financial systems transformation is a strong advantage. #J-18808-Ljbffr
