Overview Engineer, Mechanical Design role at Universal Robina Corporation . The Mechanical Design Engineer creates correct, innovative, safe and cost-effective designs for Mechanical Scope Requirements. He also ensures timely cross-functional approval of the design and purchase of overall project requirements. Responsibilities Coordinate across stakeholders to develop and approve all design standards related to Mechanical utilities work scopes, considering cost, quality, health, safety and environmental requirements. Manage the feasibility stage of the project by collaborating with different functions to align scope, timelines and budget. Perform Mechanical Utilities design analysis and calculations; coordinate requirements with process, packaging, civil, and electrical teams; drive timely design and awarding of scopes; recommend corrective actions for design issues. Interface with project mechanical utility suppliers to ensure correct, timely and cost-effective tendering of approved mechanical scope packages. Support the Design Manager in meeting design timelines and project requirements. Incorporate safety and permit compliance strategies into tendered and awarded packaging work scopes. Prepare and provide necessary reports to monitor project progress from pre-project through design, tendering and awarding. Other duties as assigned by the immediate superior. Qualifications Education: BS Mechanical Engineering; licensed preferred. Experience: 1–3 years in Mechanical Utilities design (e.g., HVAC, Steam, Compressed air, WTP/WWTP, water, piping, pumps). Skills: Mathematical and engineering acuity; knowledge of 3–5 mechanical utility equipment; understanding of engineering concepts; strong process design skills; basic project management skills.
