Overview

Join to apply for the IT/AV Consultant role at Cundall . This role supports the design and implementation of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems across a range of infrastructure projects within our ICT Consultancy team.

Responsibilities
  • Support the technical lead for allocated projects, producing designs that conform to client requirements, health and safety laws, industry standards and best practices.
  • Design ICT physical infrastructure to support passive and active systems such as structured cabling, extra-low voltage building control and communications systems.
  • Contribute to specifications, design drawings and delivery of ICT and supporting infrastructure.
  • Be part of the QA and QC process as an author.
  • Develop ICT performance specifications using Revit, AutoCAD and BIM, including calculations, technical specifications, drawings, Employers’ Requirements and tender documentation.
  • Participate in construction site visits to monitor ICT works, working with senior team members.
  • Collaborate within the wider Cundall team and external partners to deliver technically excellent projects.
  • Receive support from senior management, including line management, mentorship and chartership guidance.
Qualifications
  • Educated to degree level in Electrical Engineering, ICT or Computer Science (MEng, BEng or BSc). Working towards or already a member of a professional institute.
  • 3–4 years of experience in an engineering design consultancy or for a contractor.
  • Desirable: knowledge and experience in designing ICT and telecoms systems, including passive ICT systems (structured cabling) and active ICT systems (Wi‑Fi, GSM), data centre telecoms infrastructure, satellite communications, antennas, BMS and security interfaces.
  • Experience leading site visits for surveys, witnessing and commissioning to support design work.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit; working knowledge of drawing and model production; proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • WiredScore and/or SmartScore Accredited Professional is a plus; interest or ability to code in Dynamo or Python would be desirable.
