About The Role As a Junior Tax Officer , you will work with the Senior Tax Officer on tax compliance, developing strategic tax planning and handling BIR audit investigations and assessments of SBC and its subsidiaries. Your primary responsibility will be providing reports, reconciliations, and all documents requested by the BIR during audits. How You’ll Contribute Assist the Senior Tax Officer in managing tax exposure related to BIR audits and assessments. Ensure compliance with the Letter of Authority issued by the BIR. Prepare monthly and quarterly reconciliations, reports, and schedules in anticipation of BIR audits. Evaluate new BIR issuances for their tax implications on SBC and its subsidiaries. Prepare Tax Bulletins based on new Revenue Regulations and other BIR issuances. Monitor and update tax checklists to ensure timely tax filings and payments. Inform units of upcoming tax submission deadlines by setting a calendar at the start of each month. Respond to tax queries related to current processes within designated turnaround times. Perform other related tasks as assigned. What We’re Looking For Bachelor's degree. 3-4 years of experience in taxation, preferably within banking or financial sectors, including regulatory reporting (BIR, BSP, SEC). Knowledge of BIR tax assessments, investigations, accounting, and financial statement preparation. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel formulas. Effective communication skills at all organizational levels and with external parties. Attention to detail.
