Overview

General Ledger Accountant position with responsibilities in month-end closing, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, fixed assets and lease management, SOX controls, audits, and collaboration with business partners. Role involves participation in special projects and acting as main backup to the GL manager. Night shift and onsite presence may be required during probation.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for month-end closing activities of multiple subsidiaries, including reporting (US GAAP & IFRS).
  • Prepare and review journal entries such as accruals, prepaid amortizations, and other ad hoc JEs.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including intercompany.
  • Manage the fixed assets and lease module from capitalization to disposal.
  • Perform flux analysis for both Balance Sheet and P&L.
  • Document and adhere to SOX controls.
  • Fulfill audit requests in a timely manner.
  • Communicate closely with Business Partners.
  • Participate in and lead special projects and activities as assigned by GL manager.
  • Act as the main backup of the GL manager.
Role Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification/work experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience (General Ledger).
  • Strong understanding of Accounting Principles (US GAAP / IFRS).
  • Very good knowledge of SAP FI module; additional experience in S/4HANA is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel.
  • Experience in transitioning accounting activities into a shared service center environment (creation of desktop procedures, work shadowing, etc.) is essential.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Advanced English & Spanish language skills.
  • Familiarity with Mexico operations is a plus.
  • Amenable to work on a night shift.
  • Amenable to work onsite during probationary period, Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days WFH) upon regularization. Office location: McKinley West, Taguig City.
