Quantity Surveyor

The Quantity Surveyor (Civil) is responsible for estimating, monitoring, and controlling project costs in civil engineering and construction works. The role covers preparing quantity take-offs, evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations, preparing cost reports, and ensuring projects are delivered within budget and specifications. The QS (Civil) also assists in contract administration, bid preparation, and cost analysis to support efficient project execution.


Qualifications:
- Must possess at least a Bachelor’s/College Degree in Civil Engineering
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
- Preferably with at least 2 years of experience in estimating
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Knowledgeable in Google SketchUp 8.7, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D
- Willing to work beyond regular working hours
- Open to relocation assignments

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare Requests for Assistance from other engineering trades and support groups for the completion of tender packages.
- Conduct basic engineering design as needed to support cost proposals.
- Estimate quantities based on the scope of works and tender drawings.
- Prepare technical queries or requests for information to ensure project clarity.
- Review the completeness of quotation packages.
- Evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers for accuracy and competitiveness.
- Provide standard formats for estimated quantities and summaries.
- Perform overall activity costing using the company’s established format, including man-hour application, manpower loading, and equipment allocation.
- Prepare technical qualifications as part of the basis of estimates for direct works.
- Develop detailed price breakdowns and submittals in compliance with client requirements to achieve competitive proposals.
- Prepare a responsibility matrix summarizing scope of work and supply allocations.
- Ensure compliance with bid document requirements for work items.
- Compile and organize all tender documents prior to distribution to subordinates.
