Eye Center Nurse

Job description
- Assist with eye exams, diagnostic tests, and minor surgical procedures.
- Administer prescribed eye medications and monitor patient responses.
- Educate patients on medications, procedures, post-treatment care, and eye health.
- Prepare surgical and procedure rooms; ensure sterile conditions and proper equipment setup.
- Monitor and record patients’ vital signs and medical history.
- Assist in the preparation and recovery of patients before and after eye surgeries (cataract surgery).
- Maintain accurate patient records and uphold confidentiality protocols.
- Ensure compliance with infection control standards and clinical safety protocols.
- Collaborate with the ophthalmology team to enhance patient care quality.
- Perform admin function as may be required
- Performs other related duties as required
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- 1–2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred.
- Experience in ophthalmology or outpatient surgical care is an advantage.
- Knowledge of eye anatomy, common eye conditions, and treatments.
- Skilled in administering eye drops, injections, and assisting in eye procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and patient education skills.
- Strong organizational and documentation abilities.
- Basic computer proficiency, especially with electronic medical records (EMR).
- Ability to remain calm in urgent situations and multitask effectively.
