Radiology Nurse

Job description:

Pre-procedural Care:

• Complete and update radiology assessment forms, including medical history, allergies, contraindications for contrast media, and vital signs.

• Ensure all informed consent forms for contrast media, sedation, and interventional procedures are properly signed and filed.

• Educate and prepare patients for procedures, explaining risks and answering questions.

• Establish IV access for contrast administration or sedation.

Intra-procedural Support:

• Monitor patient vital signs and comfort throughout the procedure

• Administer medications or sedatives under physician direction

• Assist radiologists during interventional or invasive procedures

• Respond to adverse reactions or medical emergencies during imaging exams

Post-procedural Care:

• Monitor patients in recovery following sedation or contrast administration

• Provide post-procedure instructions and education to patients and caregivers

• Document nursing care, assessments, medications administered and any incidents

Coordination and Communication:

• Collaborate with physicians, radiologic technologists and other nurses

• Ensure safe and timely transport of patients to and from the radiology department

• Maintain accurate and complete nursing documentation and procedural records

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

• With valid PRC license

• IV Therapy, Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certifications

• With a minimum 1-2 years of experience in critical care, emergency or radiology nursing preferred

• Excellent IV insertion and medication administration skills

• Effective communication and patient education abilities

• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
