Duties and Responsibilities:

A. Tax Audits, Litigation, Refund and Health Checks

• Complete the necessary documentation and reconciliation in a timely and accurate manner to aid in the closure of BIR tax audits
• Prepare replies to Notice of Discrepancies, Preliminary Assessment Notice and Final Assessment Notice
• Execute tax health check activities by providing the necessary documentation and reconciliation in a timely and accurate manner during internal audits
• Monitor tax issues and handle assessments from local government units (LGU) in collaboration with various functions
• Handle tax refunds by filing relevant application and providing the necessary documentation/reconciliation in the prescribed format and in a timely and accurate manner, collaborate with existing tax consultants.
• Act as company liaison to the BIR and external consultants

B. Tax Planning

• Assist in determining ways on how to maximize tax expenses by identifying opportunities for tax incentives, tax credits and refunds
• Assist in devising tax savings strategies in different areas of the business and on how transactions are carried out (i.e., tax treaty relief applications)
• Implement strategies/controls to mitigate the tax exposures noted by the tax authorities during audit
• Prepare monthly/quarterly analysis of income and expenses to determine which method of deduction would yield a lower taxable income and tax due
• Prepare annual analysis of taxable income to determine if carry-over of excess CWT or CWT refund is most beneficial
• Updating of company tax manual
• Updating of transfer pricing policy and ensure adherence by the group

C. Tax Advisory

• Handles queries on tax implications of certain transactions (i.e., acquisitions, spin-offs, transfer pricing etc.)
• Coordinate with Tax Compliance team on new issuances and its effect on the company tax status.

Job Requirements:

• Must have 5 to 7 years accounting experience
* Must have at least 2 years of tax regulatory compliance experience.
* Certified Public Accountant
• Experience in accounting system (SAP and Netsuite)
• Extensive knowledge on taxes and statutory reporting requirements• Up to date on BIR issuances and Court rulings
• Ability to work under pressure and can adapt to changing paces in tax reporting requirements
• Keen to details
• With advanced excel skills
• Willing to be assigned in Ortigas, Pasig City
