Position Overview
The Social Media Strategist plays a key role in planning and executing high-impact social media campaigns that align with company and client objectives. This role combines creative storytelling, platform expertise, and social SEO skills to ensure content performs optimally across social channels and search algorithms. Working under the direction of the Campaign Manager, the strategist transforms campaign briefs into actionable social media strategies — driving reach, engagement, and measurable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
Translate campaign goals and briefs from the Campaign Manager into platform-specific social strategies.
Develop and maintain monthly content calendars that align with marketing objectives and seasonal trends.
Conduct audience and competitor research to identify opportunities for growth and engagement.
Utilize social SEO techniques (keyword and hashtag optimization, metadata alignment) to improve discoverability.
Content Direction & Optimization
Guide the content creation team (designers, editors, copywriters) on platform best practices, tone, and optimization.
Ensure all social content aligns with brand voice, message, and visual identity.
Recommend creative formats (reels, stories, carousels, UGC, etc.) to maximize performance per platform.
Stay updated on platform algorithm changes and trend cycles.
Scheduling & Execution
Schedule and manage organic posts across multiple platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn).
Monitor timing, frequency, and post types for optimal performance.
Coordinate with paid media specialists for boosted or ad-supported campaigns.
Monitoring & Analysis
Track performance metrics such as reach, engagement, CTR, and keyword visibility.
Identify high-performing content and optimization opportunities based on analytics.
Present insights and recommendations to the Campaign Manager for campaign adjustments.
Reporting
Prepare weekly or monthly social media reports highlighting SEO impact and engagement trends.
Contribute to post-campaign evaluations and strategy refinements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field.
2+ years of experience in social media management or digital strategy (agency experience preferred).
Strong understanding of major platforms: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
Proven experience in Social SEO — keyword research, hashtag strategy, and algorithm-based optimization.
Familiarity with analytics tools (Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, SEMrush, or similar).
Excellent communication and project management skills.
Strong creative eye and ability to brief visual and written content teams.
