As a Lead Designer, you will be responsible for leading the creative vision, design development, and execution of projects from concept to completion. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and clients to deliver innovative, functional, and aesthetically compelling spaces. Your role will be crucial in ensuring design excellence while balancing technical feasibility, budget, and project timelines. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Design Leadership: 
Lead creative direction and concept development for design and build projects. 
Oversee and guide design teams, ensuring high-quality output and consistency in design. 
Provide innovative and practical design solutions that align with client requirements and project constraints. 
Stay updated on design trends, materials, and construction techniques to enhance project outcomes. 
Assist Design Manager with various project deliveries.  

Project Development & Coordination: 
Collaborate with clients to understand project goals, functional requirements, and budget constraints. 
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of design intent into construction. 
Review and approve design drawings, material selections, and technical specifications. 
Conduct site visits to oversee design implementation and address any on-site challenges. 
Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining clear and open communication with clients and team members throughout the design and turnover phases.

Team & Stakeholder Collaboration: 
Lead design presentations and communicate design concepts effectively to clients and stakeholders. 
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for material selection and procurement. 

Quality & Compliance: 
Ensure all designs comply with industry regulations, safety codes, and sustainability best practices. 
Maintain quality control throughout the design and build process, ensuring deliverables meet company and client standards. 

Material & Product Specification:
Select and specify furniture, fixtures, finishes, and other design elements that support the overall project concept and budget.

Technical Expertise:
Review and produce detailed fit-out plans, modular cabinet, and joinery drawings, with strong knowledge of fabrication standards and construction methods.

Team Support:
Assist the Manager with various project deliverables, documentation, and coordination tasks as needed.
Assists the team by offering knowledgeable input on fit-out concerns, addressing design-related challenges, and staying ahead of emerging design trends.

JOB QUALIFICATION: 
Educational background / Qualifications:  Associate's degree in Architecture, Interior Designer, or a related field. Bachelor's degree is preferable. 
Work Experience required:  2+ years' experience of Fitout Projects/ Design & Build Experience

Ability to generate new ideas and solutions 
Good oral and written communication skills
Proficient in Autocad, Sketchup, Enscape/ Lumion & Photoshop
Thrive in a Fast-paced work environment 
Self-starter – ability to work independently without supervision
