About the job: Ruby on Rails Developer (Cebu) | Hybrid Work Setup: Hybrid (1x remote) Schedule: Mid-Shift (1PM - 10PM) Job Description: We are currently looking for a Ruby on Rails developer for a full-time position based in our Cebu office, with a flexible work arrangement. The Ruby on Rails developer will be designing, developing, and testing software applications. Additionally, they will maintain existing codebases, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. We expect good communication skills in English and a positive attitude, along with a high level of commitment and responsibility, to be agile and dedicated to high-quality work. Education: BSc/MSc degree in Computer Science, information engineering, or a related subject or equivalent experience Experiences: Minimum 3 years of experience as a software developer working on a platform, of which is at least 2 years' experience in Ruby on Rails developmentKnowledge/SkillsProficiency in Ruby and Ruby on RailsJavaScript experience/knowledgeStrong knowledge of software development best practices and design patternsExperience with API development and integrationExperience with database management systems, SQL ServerBasic Unix knowledgeBasic Docker knowledgeGit knowledgeUnderstanding of cloud services like Azure or AWS is a plusExperience in React is a plus Soft skills: Very good English language (both spoken and written)Collaborative attitude and the ability to work effectively in a teamProblem-solving attitude and a positive mindsetEnthusiasm for programming and scriptingHigh awareness of qualityWillingness to learnSelf-starter Responsibilities: Design, code, test, and debug software applications using Ruby on Rails and ReactContribute to all phases of the life-cycle, including any scrum/agile ceremonies, and add value to the teamDevelop and maintain APIs for seamless integration between front-end and back-end systemsCollaborate with the wider teamMaintain and enhance existing software platform(s) as needed.
