AECOM is seeking for Data Scientist to be based in Manila, Philippines

Job Description:

  • Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of processes, etc.

  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques

  • Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize business outcomes

  • Use machine learning tools to identify critical features and develop classification models based on business requirements

  • Using data modeling techniques to bring cohesion to unstructured and semi-structured data

  • Using natural language processing (NLP) and computer vision to analyze unstructured and semi-structured data

  • Carry out preprocessing of structured and unstructured data

  • Oversee the processing, cleansing, and validating the integrity of data to be used for analysis

  • Analyze large amounts of information to find patterns and solutions

  • Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes

  • Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy

  • Measures effectiveness of improvements through deep analysis of data on performance metrics striving for cost-effective high-quality improvements

Minimum Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of proven experience as Data Analyst or Data Scientist

  • Knowledge of statistical programming languages like R, Python, and database query languages like SQL. Familiar with Java or C++ is an added advantage

  • Proven applied statistical skills, including knowledge of statistical tests, distributions, regression, maximum likelihood estimators, etc.

  • Knowledge of machine learning methods

  • Strong math skills in Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra for predictive performance and algorithm optimization techniques

  • Proficiency in handling imperfections in data

  • Experience with Data Visualization tools (i.e., Tableau) to help visually encode data

  • Work effectively across functions, disciplines, and levels

  • Excellent communication skills crossing technical and non-technical audiences

  • Problem solving aptitude

  • Analytical mind with great business sense

  • Confident working with various groups (business analysts, developers, and end users)

  • A Master’s or Ph. D. degree or relevant qualification in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, or another quantitative field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within a varied audience and internal and external customers. (Communication)

  • Ability to maintain good customer relationship with the ability to initiate ways to improve customer support customer experience (Customer Service)

  • Ability to be thorough and meticulous in completing assigned tasks and with the ability to propose ways to prevent or eliminate errors, discrepancies & issues. (Attention to Detail)

  • Ability to identify and resolve moderate and complex issues by applying best practices and technical expertise and may recommend solutions for unique scenarios. (Problem Solving)
