Role Overview: 

 

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and infrastructure to support our data-driven initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements, design scalable solutions, and implement best practices for data ingestion, storage, processing, and analysis. This role requires expertise in AWS cloud services, programming languages, and data engineering principles. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using AWS cloud services (e.g., AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, Amazon EMR, Amazon Redshift, Amazon S3) 
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions. 
  • Architect data storage solutions and data models that optimize performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. 
  • Develop and implement data governance and security measures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. 
  • Automate deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of data infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools. 
  • Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and availability. 
  • Mentor and coach junior team members, providing guidance on best practices, coding standards, and emerging technologies. 
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in data engineering, cloud technologies, and programming languages, and proactively recommend enhancements to existing solution. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field 
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer, preferably in a senior or lead role. 
  • Strong proficiency in AWS cloud services, including AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, Amazon EMR, Amazon Redshift, Amazon S3, and AWS IAM. 
  • AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Big Data – Specialty). 
  • Experience with containerization technologies using Docker or Kubernetes is a MUST
  • Knowledge of streaming data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Kafka, Apache Flink). 
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts and techniques. 
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scala, or Java, with experience in building and maintaining production-quality code. 
  • Solid understanding of data engineering concepts, data modelling, and ETL processes. 
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop) and distributed computing frameworks. 
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, version control systems. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex data-related issues. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
