Position Overview:

The Application Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise and support to enhance existing systems and assess new IS&T software projects and initiatives. This role involves troubleshooting application functionality, coordinating development projects, managing third-party relationships, and producing technical documentation.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise and Recommendations:

Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new IS&T software projects and initiatives.Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency of business processes.Investigate and resolve application functionality-related issues (L1 Support).Assist in troubleshooting software application issues. Project Coordination and Development:Coordinate application development for multiple projects.Assist in managing an outsource relationship for third-party application development and programming consultants.User Support and Training:Provide assistance and advice to business users on the effective use of applications and information technology.Write technical procedures and documentation for applications, including operations and user guides.Produce technical documentation for new and existing applications.System Security and Compliance:Ensure that systems align with security and internal control measures.Facilitate and participate in the testing phase.Support change management efforts. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Minimum of 2 years of technology experience in hands-on technical roles.Extensive knowledge of data processing, hardware platforms, and enterprise software applications.Technical experience with systems networking, databases, web development, and user support.Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint.Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Project.Strong project management skills with a focus on effective results within an information systems environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Experience in developing and implementing standards, procedures, and guidelines to support operational processes.Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment.Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
