Your work environment: Financial Markets and Global Treasury (FMGT Tribe) is responsible for the IT environment that enables crucial commercial activities of ING: Trading, Risk Management, and Liquidity Management. Thousands of trades are processed in real time by our systems/interfaces every hour. Flawless processing is key as trades covering billions of euros pass through our systems daily. We use top-notch in-house engineered solutions and market-leading vendor applications that need to be running virtually all the time. If they aren't, Financial Markets will shut down. Our BIS Squads (2) are located in the Netherlands, Singapore, and India, serving FM interfaces/users in over 30 countries globally. Our Squads operate virtually, with engineers working from various locations/countries; thus, our main language is English. We work in DevOps Scrum teams, being end-to-end responsible for our software: from functional feature analysis to implementation and support of the production environment. Our goal is to achieve fully self-managing and self-optimizing systems.

Job description: Within the FM> Areas, Business Integration Services Chapter, we are seeking enthusiastic Ops engineers who are team players, passionate, focused on quality, and dedicated to continuous improvement. We need individuals who are solution-focused, capable of designing, developing, testing, delivering, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. The Ops Engineer will actively monitor, manage, test, deploy, and operate the FM> FO/BO applications interfaces to identify and prevent operational problems. Automation of deployment and operations with TFS, Ansible, and other tools is crucial.

Desired skills & experience:

  • Strong problem-solving skills to structure and improve complex situations.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Grafana and ELK, as well as scripting (bash/shell).
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Delivery tools such as Azure DevOps, GIT, and Ansible.
  • Affinity with data/reporting/Business Intelligence for reporting purposes.
  • Experience with Linux, Oracle, Middleware like Tibco, TomCat/Websphere.
  • Proficiency in Agile and Continuous Delivery practices.
  • Experience with Cloud platforms and architecture like Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong team player with excellent social and communication skills.
  • Pro-active, assertive, and willing to work under pressure and be on stand-by outside office hours.
  • Experience in multicultural/diverse teams.
  • Excellent written and spoken English proficiency.
  • Strong analytical skills, proactive attitude, and a commitment to knowledge sharing.
