Job Title: Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Investigator

This role is responsible for conducting initial investigations into potential AML matters involving Northern Trust accounts and clients. The successful candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough investigations into potential AML matters, analyzing data and making sound judgments
  • Document investigation activities and conclusions, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to regulatory requirements
  • Escalate alerts requiring further investigation to global partners, as necessary
  • Interact with internal partners, such as relationship managers, to gather information and collaborate on investigations
  • Facilitate discussions and reach decisions independently, consulting with management as needed

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make sound judgments
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Functional knowledge of AML regulations and procedures, with a strong understanding of transaction monitoring systems
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a team
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as economics, finance, or accounting
  • At least 2 years of experience in a related field, with a strong understanding of AML regulations and procedures
