About the Role

As a Software Engineer, you have a unique opportunity to be part of a fast-growing, entrepreneurial team where you can have an outsized impact on the healthcare journey of our members. You will play a key role in building digital infrastructure to help make healthcare more accessible, specifically in developing and maintaining data-intensive technology solutions that serve a variety of external and internal stakeholders. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will gain a deep understanding of how HMOs work and use that context to scale our services to small and medium businesses who are the backbone of the Philippines economy.

Location

This is a hybrid role based in Metro Manila, Philippines, subject to change based on business needs. You must be able to commute to our office in the Ortigas area at least once per week.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain robust full-stack systems used by patients, healthcare providers, employers, and internal operation teams through close collaboration with cross-functional teamsIntegrate APIs to integrate workflows and services such as an omnichannel patient engagement platform and electronic medical records systemsCommunicate clearly and concisely technical information to non-technical stakeholdersPerform exploratory data analyses in SQL or Python to understand unfamiliar dataQualificationsTwo years minimum experience as developer. At least 2 years of professional full time experience as software engineer, preferably in technology companyProficient in SQL and at least one other language, preferably Python or modern Javascript (e.g. ES2019). Bonus points if you know Typescript and working with bundlers like Vite.Solid grasp of data and software engineering fundamentals. You appreciate code that's "fast enough" and you know how to handle data that doesn't fit in a single machine's RAM. You know the difference between OLAP and OLTP and when each is applicableStrong written communication skills. We work in a hybrid environment and async communications and organized documentation is critical.Quick learner. You are excited to learn new skills and to take on the challenge of working with unfamiliar healthcare data.Initiative and strong problem-solving skills. There will be days when you need to identify and solve problems that haven't been defined yet in a structured manner.High attention to detail and quality control. You write code that is highly readable and follows engineering best practices. You also have working knowledge of distributed version control systems and UNIX-like operating systems, e.g. Git and Ubuntu.
