A Purchasing Manager is responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies, tracking metrics, negotiating deals, and managing vendors. This includes collaborating with stakeholders, forecast market trends, and ensure clear requirements documentation. The Purchasing Manager oversees the purchasing and procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services necessary for the firm's daily operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Developing and implementing purchasing policies, procedures and strategies to optimize procurement operations and achieve cost-effectiveness. Negotiating contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure that the company receives the best value for its money.Managing and supervising a team of purchasing staff to ensure that purchasing activities are carried out efficiently and effectively. Conducting market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, vendors, and service providers that can meet the company's needs and requirements.Any other assignment that may be given by the Global Purchasing Head/COOJob RequirementsGraduate of Bachelors Degree Business - related courses or relevant. 5-8 years' work experience in Purchasing and merchandising, from a retail company is a plusKnowledge of general sales and market trends in the industry.Strong background in category and vendor management. Extensive expertise on negotiation and assortment planning.Background in Household, Hardware, Electronics, FMCG is advantage both outright and concessionaire/consignment. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel for data analysis and record-keeping). Must be amenable to relocation due to potential transferring to C5 Libis Area. SkillsGood written and verbal communications, English skills is a must.Target-driven and achievement-orientedAbility to work in a multicultural teamAble to work fast and able to adapt to fast paced environment Good in time management , project management and task planning is crucial Proactive outlook: hands-on can-do mentality, flexible, not a 'nine to six' approach
