ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

The Fixed Asset Property Officer is responsible for managing and overseeing the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of equipment, vessels, and service vehicles. This role ensures accurate tracking, efficient utilization, and optimal performance of these assets while adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Asset Management:

Oversee the lifecycle management of equipment, vessels, and service vehicles from acquisition to disposal.Maintain accurate records of all assets, including purchase details, condition, and location. Acquisition and Procurement: Assist in the procurement process by evaluating and selecting suppliers for equipment, vessels, and service vehicles.Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely acquisition and compliance with company standards. Tracking and Monitoring: Implement and manage asset tracking systems to monitor asset utilization and performance.Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure assets are properly maintained and in compliance with safety regulations. Maintenance and Repairs: Schedule and oversee routine maintenance and repairs for equipment, vessels, and service vehicles.Develop and manage maintenance schedules and ensure all service records are up to date. Disposal and Replacement: Manage the disposal process for obsolete or surplus assets, ensuring compliance with environmental and regulatory guidelines.Evaluate and recommend asset replacements as needed to ensure operational efficiency. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present reports on asset performance, utilization, and financial impact.Analyze asset data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all asset-related activities comply with legal, regulatory, and company policies.Maintain comprehensive documentation for all assets, including acquisition records, maintenance logs, and disposal documentation. Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with internal departments and external vendors to coordinate asset-related activities.Provide support and guidance to staff regarding asset management practices and procedures.Update insurance and renewals Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business administration, Asset Management, Engineering or a related field.Proven experience in asset management, particularly with equipment, vessels, and service vehicles.Strong organizational and analytical skills.Proficiency in asset management software and Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to asset management.Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Skills: Certification in asset management or related field (e.g., Certified Asset Management Professional (CAMP)).Experience with GIS and mapping of assets.Familiarity with procurement and maintenance management practices.
