The Financial Controller is primarily responsible for planning, designing, and coordinating the implementation of sound accounting and financial management and control systems and procedures for all operational areas and to facilitate the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date financial and accounting records. He/she is assigned to monitor all financial data, prepare accurate statements for both the PH and AU entities, and ensure that accounting transactions comply with the law. He/she works alongside the CEO to work out financial strategies for the whole company.

The role will be responsible for the finance requirements of their office in Cebu and Australia with 90 and 8 head counts respectively. The role will manage a team of eight who are responsible for management accounting and finance (payroll, invoicing, etc.). Once they're onboard, they would need to priortize the following - improving systems, providing leadership, and pioneering continuous improvement.

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's business goals and objectives. Working closely with our CEO, COO and Philippine lead
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and provide accurate and timely financial forecasts
  • Monitor and manage the company's cash flow to ensure financial stability and liquidity
  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal control activities of the organization
  • Manage and mentor Managers as well as the rest of the finance team
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks to protect the company's assets and ensure long-term financial health
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards
  • Lead or support strategic projects and initiatives, providing financial insights and recommendations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting or related field. MBA or CPA is a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, billing, payroll and general finance, and management role
  • Strategic thinker with proactive approach
  • Proficient in the use of accounting software (Xero, SAP, etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft office or Gsuite applications
  • Excellent English written and spoken communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
