The project:

  1. A 15,000-seat arena, convention centre and 2 hotel towers.

A full-time construction manager- mechanical to be based in Cebu, Philippines. You will be part of an amazing global business and have the opportunity to work with experienced staff to develop your project management skills. You will possess technical expertise in local Health and Safety rules and regulations relevant to project portfolio. Client focus – Deliver on our promise:

You will work as part of the senior construction delivery team, taking direction from Construction Lead and Project senior leadership team, providing guidance to wider team. You will build relationships to manage and influence senior stakeholders, both internally and externally. You will build a strong working relationship with your clients and support the construction lead in turning the client's vision into a deliverable onsite plan. Leads forecast Lookahead Meetings for the area or package, working with the Package Manager.

Provides detailed Planned Vs Actual data for all works within their area, knowing when to escalate to Construction Leadership where deviation from the Plan is evident. Knowing Project Digital Strategy, and where Construction Information can be found. Manages close out of their area, understanding all relevant QAQC Plans and ITPs and Handover. Develops effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

You will support the Senior Construction Delivery Team in influencing the long-term development of strategy for a function or Business Unit (BU), creating a sustainable business future. You will support Managers and other junior members of your project team and provide an environment to share knowledge and experience. You will actively network, innovate, and seek understanding of best practice, utilising the full depth of knowledge of Mace Group, the Centres of Excellence, Mace Way Control Centre and Knowledge Hub. You will provide technical expertise and support to Delivery Teams, creating a culture of ownership, promoting roles and responsibilities. Promotes and drives the business priorities through Construction to Production, Digital & Data and responsible business practices.

You'll need to have:

  1. Civil Eng or Construction Management BSc and or trade background.
  2. Ideally based in Cebu
  3. Detailed knowledge of Construction methodology, process and inherent safety involved.
  4. Detailed knowledge of digital platforms and how to implement onsite.
  5. Detailed knowledge of Mace Standards, where to find them, and how to implement them.
  6. Proven experience in managing multiple large packages of work.
  7. Planning and budget management experience.
  8. Open, with strong empathetic communication skills.
  9. Aware of industry technology and advances.
  10. Sound technical expertise in HSE regulations.

You'll also have:

  1. Construction management expertise.
  2. Developing commercial and financial acumen.
  3. Experience leading parts of construction projects within large, diverse teams.
  4. Experience of building relationships with key stakeholders.
  5. Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
  6. Completed Apprenticeship (or equivalent).
  7. Relevant NVQ or HNC (Or equivalent).
  8. Experience in a site based Managerial role (or equivalent).
  9. SMSTS and Managerial / Professional CSCS Card.
  10. Open and approachable, able to recognise and adapt approach to get results.
  11. Mentors and develops individuals, sharing knowledge and experience.
