Nursing - General Medical & Surgical (Healthcare & Medical)

The incumbent is expected to deliver the following:

  • Provides emergency, palliative care and treatment to all employees within the legal scope of nursing responsibility in the absence of the company physician.
  • Assess and determines health status of employees after an illness. This includes issuance of nursing recommendations/sent home slips or back to work.
  • Transports ill and injured employees to hospitals or home, if needed.
  • Provides health counselling to employees after illness before returning to work.
  • Assists employees in adhering to treatment plans, such as setting up appointments.
  • Facilitates referral of employees and /or dependents to government, private, or civic agencies.
  • Implements immunization program. Giving of mass injection during a health threatening situation.
  • Determines and monitor health status of employees by conducting Annual Physical exam and pre-employment physical exam, exit physical Exam, Fit-to-work clearance and other special diagnostic procedures as needed. This is done in collaboration with the Occupational Health Physician.
  • Conducts periodic plant round to prevent health and safety hazards and create safety awareness among employees. This is done in collaboration with the Occupational Health Physician and Safety Officer.
  • Participates actively in disaster control and fire prevention programs.
  • Involves actively in the dissemination of health information through company publications or health bulletins and handouts.
  • Assess need of employees' health education.
  • Plans, coordinates and implements programs on various health drives through seminar, symposium and group activities.
  • Educates employees and family members about mental or physical illness, abuse, medication, or available community resources.
  • Conducts Basic Life Support, Basic First Aid, Basic Emergency Response/Rescue trainings for employees.
  • Increases social work knowledge by reviewing current literature, attending seminars, training workshops, or classes.
  • Participates actively in the formulation and implementation of new HR policies related to Health & Safety and those mandated by the Government.
  • Assesses occupational health problems in the company with emphasis on the preventive aspect like recognizing existing potential hazards.
  • Maintains individual health records and keep its confidentiality.
  • Makes suggestions or recommendations in the development and establishment of new, practical techniques, methods, systems and approaches in the delivery of occupational health, safety and environment programs to the employees.
  • Participates actively in the different CSR programs of the company such as Community Health Outreach; Blood Donation Program etc.
  • Validates & monitor sick leaves. Prepares and submit reports on employees illnesses based on sick leave, work-related accidents and annual medical reports to Department of Labor.
  • Evaluates all Medical Services Program for its effectiveness and relevance.

REQUIRED SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a Registered Nurse
  • With basic knowledge in occupational healthcare management
  • Preferably has completed the training hours set by the regulatory agencies
  • Advanced knowledge in safety and industrial health standards and practices
  • Possess good interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to work collaboratively with other teams and in a culturally diverse work environment
  • Adequate knowledge in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Must be willing to be based in Maragusan, Davao de Oro
