Role Description:

The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for ensuring that activities at the terminal are aligned with the overall strategy of ICTSI and that these yield the best possible terminal financial returns. This individual also oversees development of local policies, procedures and strategic objectives for the Finance function.

The CFO is a key member of the terminal management team and has a direct influence on the further growth and development of the facility. He/she provides input for effective strategies for financing of the terminal within operating opportunities and constraints.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and execute the financial strategy, ensuring profitability, risk protection, and financial strength.
  • Design and implement local financial policies, ensuring compliance with company strategy and ICTSI group policies.
  • Establish and maintain sufficient internal controls for the organization's best interest protection.
  • Oversee financial reporting, assist in CEO and CFO report preparation, and coordinate with ICTSI.
  • Full responsibility for annual budget preparation, annual reports, and tax declarations.
  • Prepare reporting packages and documents as requested by Senior Management for Annual reports.
  • Identify threats to the company's strategy and inform CEO and Regional Management/ICTSI.
  • Ensure adequate insurance coverages are in place.
  • Manage the treasury function, ensuring sufficient liquidity and optimizing cash balances.
  • Liaise and negotiate with local banks for financial arrangements.
  • Implement credit evaluation procedures for clients and optimize credit terms.
  • Ensure timely and accurate registration of payments and invoices, proper payment of supplier invoices, and reconciliation of accounts.
  • Optimize taxes, liaise with external auditors, and protect company assets.
  • Ensure high efficiency, initiate improvements, and share information benefiting other company areas.
  • Proactively identify and inform CEO about potential business opportunities.
  • Support the CEO and/or Commercial Head in commercial negotiations with customers
  • Review and analyze the performance of the company relative to the investment case
  • Ensure the company's compliance with the concession agreement and other reporting requirements to the grantor / regulatory authority

Job Requirements and Competencies

Skills and Abilities:

  • Understanding of Terminal Operations.
  • Understanding of the container shipping industry and an ability to relate with shipping company and other associated industry managers.
  • Strategic mindset, ability to drive strategic initiatives.
  • Able to provide vision and empowers others to take action by effectively delegating.
  • Ability to provide leadership, obtain cooperation and assistance to meet objectives, and promote a team environment.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Professional standard of knowledge to lead teams through functional/general expertise in the finance and associated functions.
  • Extensive knowledge of setting of budgets, reporting, inventory control systems and accounting.
  • Minimum 10 years in finance roles including management experience.

Professional Qualification and Training:

  • Graduate of Accountancy, Finance, or related business studies
  • Preferably with post-graduate studies finance or business (CFA, MBA, etc.)

Working Conditions:

  • Works in an office environment.
  • Generally 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Flexibility to work long hours.
